Election Math

Most likely to be Democrat states:
Washington (12) , Oregon (7), California (55), Minnesota (10), Illinois (20), Hawaii (4), New York (29), Vermont (3), Maine (4), Massachusetts (11), Connecticut (7), New Jersey (14), Delaware (3), Maryland (10), and DC (3)Montana (3)

Most likely to be Republican states:
Idaho (4), Wyoming (3), Utah (6), Arizona (11), Alaska (3), North Dakota (3), South Dakota (3), Nebraska (5), Kansas (6), Oklahoma (7), Texas (38), Arkansas (6), Louisiana (8), Kentucky (8), West Virginia (5), Alabama (9), Mississippi (6), Georgia (16), South Carolina (9), Tennessee (11), Indiana (11)

If this was the situation, right now Obama would have 199 of the 270 electoral votes. Whereas the republicans would only have 183 of the 270 electoral votes.

Still using the data above, if Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio were democrat, giving Obama the larger states, then he would be at 268 electoral votes. If North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Iowa, Montana, Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico were republican states, then they would have 270 electoral votes.
If the opposite of that happens, republicans get the larger states and Obama gets the smaller of the remaining states, then democrats would have 296 electoral votes and republicans would have 242 electoral votes

North/ South:
If Obama gained the South swing states, Nevada (6), Colorado (9), New Mexico (5), Missouri (10), North Carolina (10), Florida (29), and Virginia (13), he would win with 283 electoral votes. Therefore, the republicans would lose with the north states of Iowa (6), Wisconsin (10), Michigan (16), Ohio (18), Pennsylvania (20), and New Hampshire (4) and have a total of 255 electoral votes. If Republicans gained the South swing states, Nevada (6), Colorado (9), New Mexico (5), Missouri (10), North Carolina (10), Florida (29), and Virginia (13), they would lose with a total of 268 electoral votes. Therefore, Obama would gain the North states of
Iowa (6), Wisconsin (10), Michigan (16), Ohio (18), Pennsylvania (20), and New Hampshire (4), and just win with a total of 270 electoral votes.

East/ West:
If Obama gained the West swing states, Nevada (6), Colorado (9), New Mexico (5), Iowa (6), Missouri (10), and Wisconsin (10), he would have a total of 242 electoral votes, If Republicans gained the East swing states, Michigan (16), Ohio (18), Pennsylvania (20), New Hampshire (4), Virginia (13), North Carolina (15), and Florida (29), they would win with a total of 296 electoral votes.
If Obama gained the East swing states, Michigan (16), Ohio (18), Pennsylvania (20), New Hampshire (4), Virginia (13), North Carolina (15), and Florida (29), he would win with a total of 311 electoral votes. If Republicans got the West swing states, Nevada (6), Colorado (9), New Mexico (5), Iowa (6), Missouri (10), and Wisconsin (10), he would have a total of 227 electoral votes.
